About RRF:

The RRF was co-founded by Professors Imran Syed and Muhammad Azeemuddin to provide residents with opportunities for academic and professional growth through research, audits, and teaching.

Professor Imran Syed is recognised as one of the world’s foremost authorities in Interventional Radiology (IR), with a career spanning over two and a half decades of clinical excellence, academic contribution, and educational leadership. He currently serves as:

·         Regional Lead for Interventional Radiology at MSE

·         Clinical Lead for Radiology & Uro-Radiology at Basildon University Hospital

·         Learning Lead for Interventional Radiology at the Royal College of Radiologists (RCR), UK

Dr. Syed initiated this platform with the noble intention of inspiring individuals within the medical field and beyond. His journey and accomplishments serve as a testament to the belief that nothing is impossible with dedication, hard work, and a passion for innovation in healthcare. By sharing insights from his career, challenges overcome, and breakthroughs in interventional radiology and endovascular interventions, he aims to motivate current and future healthcare professionals to pursue excellence.

This year, we launched RRF Juniors, extending opportunities to medical students through:

·         A structured teaching series

·         The Syed Essay Competition (winners present at RRF6 and receive a portfolio-building cash prize)

·         Research opportunities for committed students

·         A new mentorship program pairing students with radiology registrars for tailored guidance
