A message from Ellie (a final year student from Bristol University & marketing intern with student and youth travel agency KILROY) -
Hi there,
I'm Ellie, a final year student at the University of Bristol, and I’m also currently working as a part-time marketing intern with student and youth travel agency KILROY.
I’m reaching out because this month we've launched our Impact Scholarship! University Students awarded a scholarship will receive £500 to go towards a conservation or community development project booked with KILROY.
I’m reaching out to the School of Medicine in particular, as there are several options for medical and healthcare volunteering projects as part of this scholarship, which would be amazing for Cardiff Medicine students. These projects provide students with the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to travel to Bali, Vietnam, Zanzibar or Namibia and make a truly positive impact by applying the valuable skills that they’re developing at university and gaining real experience.
To apply, students need to send us a written application that addresses the following:
· Their chosen development project from our range of over 100 volunteer projects
· How this project aligns with their studies and future career prospects
· Why they’ve chosen this project and destination
· What they want to achieve from their educational program
· What impact this program will have on their lives and what impact they hope to have on the communities they work with abroad
*The final deadline for applications is the 28th of November.
Following this, successful applicants will be invited to an interview, with final scholarships awarded in December!
This is the first time we're launching this scholarship, it's been shared with Bristol Medicine students, and I’d be so grateful if it would be possible for you to share it with Cardiff Medicine students too (other than final years, as applicants must have at least 1 more year of study left) because it is truly an unmissable opportunity.
Would this be something you’d be interested in sharing? Alternatively, are there other parties that I should contact with this opportunity instead?
For more information and to apply, students need to visit www.impactscholarship.co.uk
